Real Mountain Values started as a running joke between myself, Brianna Willis and my husband, Patrick. A certain politician ran a campaign that constantly discussed mountain values. To tell you the truth Patrick and I don't remember that much about the campaign other than every time we would see a sign or commercial we would discuss exactly what made up a mountain value... Babies and Beer

Honestly, after I had a child I imagined myself not being able to drink as much as I had before the kid came along. “Oh, the kid’s gonna take up all of your time. You won’t have time to do anything else” they all said. Ha!!!! To put it bluntly, you’re all wrong.

It started with the first few weeks of being home with Brianna and the boy. You see, we were getting up at all hours of the day-night was day, day was night and so forth. 1:30 am, 2:54am, 4:21am, the boy didn’t care.

So while 9:30am may seem a bit early for many of you to be taking in some frothy goodness, when you have a kid, it’s just like it’s 9:30pm. Crack open a Samuel Adams and enjoy-who cares if Regis and Kelly are on? Why, that’s more reason to grab a beer at 9:30 in the morning.

One of the hardest parts of going back to work (in addition to leaving my child) was missing the frothy goodness opportunities during the day (and night). For some reason, I think my coworkers would look down upon a 11:30am beer break. Damn you responsibilities!!
