You might have noticed the posting/craftiness has been a little bit light this week. I haven’t abandoned the blog, just been working on an awesome behind the scenes project; facelift for Real Mountain Values. Plus a whole lot of recategorization, linking etc. Which will make it easier for you, dear reader, to find your favorite tutorials, inspiration, and general awesomeness.
I’ll give you a little sneak peak:
You didn't think we were going to get rid of the blue did you?
I have a bunch of great ideas for 2012 BUT I would love to hear anything you would

We need help coming up with a crafty project to take care of this:
We need help with crafts, not alcohol. :)
We have amassed quite the collection of beer caps with a fair number of wine corks thrown in for good measure. Now before you judge our alcohol consumption please note that these have been collected over a large period of time. Still judging our alcohol consumption? Fair enough.
Anyway, we just toss these bottle caps in a bag BECAUSE I keep thinking I am going to come up with some awesome crafty project for them. Well folks I will

Last year did a round up of green alternatives to regular wrapping paper. I thought I would add a few more just in time for us last minute wrappers. Did I say last minute? Yep, I’m still waiting for some of the gifts I ordered to arrive. Hey at least I ordered them already :).
Scrap Paper As Layered Wrapping
Although this is wrapping paper you could buy (2010) from Anthropologie you could easily recreate this look by using all those little scraps of paper left over from other wrapping. Or ahem… admit your mother was right and save some

What if they combined junk mail and spam… You'd get a 6" longer penis with 0% introductory APR.
Just like you, we’re bombarded with all kinds of crappy junk mail every day. This past Thursday, I received something from the Honey-Baked Ham Store. As I looked at the catalog, I said to myself, “How in the world did they get my name and address? I’ve never bought any of their tasty pork products before. Oh my god, that ham looks GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.” But I digress.
Well, probably the worst and most numerous of the junk mail that me and Brianna

I’ve been in a Christmas whirl, viewing all the amazing decor about the blogosphere. However, it is always and forever the craft tutorials that grab my heart. I love to both write and read them, but here are my top 5 choices for ornament tutorials. These crafty peeps blow my tutorials out of the water! I can’t wait to try some of these; both this and next year!
In no particular order:
1. My Desert Cottage: Paper, glue, and pipe cleaners never looked so good.

One thread you’ll notice if you read here long is that I am consistently completing tasks at the last minute. I loathe being late, but I can’t say I manage to get things done weeks in advance. As usual I needed a last minute Holiday recipe and ummm… Well last year I recommended my chocolate dipped pretzels, which, would have been wonderful IF I had reviewed my recipe. Yeah, I burned chocolate… again.
Since this happens a lot I have a fall back recipe. I think the recipe originally started with one I found in a magazine, but I have tweaked it

My Christmas tree coordinates with the adjoining Snowy Woodland Mantel. However, I had to add a little more shimmer as you can see here.
Perhaps you have noted the diminutive size of this particular tree. Make no mistake, we carefully selected our special tree. We might have been the ONLY people out looking for our own perfect “tiny” tree. Certainly Lowe’s or Home Depot has expanded their tree selection to include some live tabletops in the last few years, but if you really want that elusive size above table-top but below 6 feet you are going to have to seek out a

In 2010 we insanely agreed to be part of a charity tour of homes. If we never have to do that level of decorating again it will be to soon. Instead I kept my decorations simple and my tour more virtual by joining the The Inspired Room & The Nesting Place Christmas Tour of Homes in 2011. Hope you Enjoy!
Welcome to our humble abode bungalow. Right now we are a family of three, though Willis 2.0 will make us a family of four early in 2012. That should put any questions to rest about whether my belly is a baby bump

HoHoHo!
Dear SantaClain,
This is a brief list from your papa for what I would like for Christmas. I don’t think there’s too much on the list that you shouldn’t be able to do, so please take this under consideration as you are flying around the world on Christmas Eve night. you.
1. Please let us know when you poop. Point at your butt. Say “Poop!” Point at your butt and say “Poop!” Anything to let us know that you have pooped. That way, we can try to pass you off to the other spouse until one of us
