Well, last week, I somehow managed to lose our conversations, so I’m sorry for failing you so badly. But worry not, this week’s conversations are sure to lighten your life, lift your spirit and enchant your inner mind. That, or they’ll just make you laugh. Either way, you win. Onward!
On the day after the Town Board election
Patrick: “Damn, I need to pick up all these yard signs. That’s the sucky part they don’t tell you about when you run for office.”
Brianna: “Well, at least you can call it a victory lap this year instead of the ‘Pickup

Yesterday we looked at the proper wording for formal invitations. Today comes the fun part, informal invitations. These are more often used for things like birthdays, dinner parties, and general events. They are much less structured and depending on the event can be quite humorous. To cover the informal invite you really need only be concerned with these basic questions:
Who: Who is having the event. If every guest already knows you then this information can be implied. For example, I didn’t list myself on my son’s second birthday invitations. Everyone we invited knows Patrick and I will be

I had a blog post all ready to go today, but it got preempted for some late breaking news. This was at 7:30pm when the polls closed:
And by 9 PM here were the results:
Congratulations to my husband, Patrick! He is Canton’s newest Alderman.
Of course now the real work begins because he has to learn the position while trying to stay true to his campaign of getting our small town a blueprint for future development.
I’m excited for the future because we want our town to prosper and I think my husband has a number of

Whether your event is a wedding, anniversary, or christening most formal invitations share a similar pattern. The wording can vary slightly but if you follow this general outline then you are sure to create a presentable formal invitation.
List the formal names of the hosts. Include honorifics such as Mr., Mrs., or Dr. Extend the invitation: “request the honor of your presence at” List the event: “the marriage of”, “the anniversary of” or “in honor of” List the recipients of the event. Exclude honorifics but consider including the middle name Creative portion: Here you can have a little fun such as “as

Last week we took a look at a mood board inspired by the traditional Thanksgiving. What if cornucopias, layers of color, and sideboards about to collapse under copious amounts of food aren’t your thing? Then take a look at this week’s Modern Thanksgiving.
The anchoring idea in this modern theme is to keep the Thanksgiving clean and simple. Pick choice items to draw the eye. For example instead of a huge centerpiece group a few branches, quail feathers, or choose plates with a Thanksgiving accent.
Keep the colors muted. You can still draw from the traditional orange, gold ,

We’re branching out! Yep, we’ve made it “down the mountain” to the Piedmont this week. Want some proof? Here ya go:
Just add flowers.
All it needs is a little TLC
While I cannot give the address of said commode planter, I will tell you it’s in the heart of the Piedmont. What you’re witnessing is cultural dissemination at work. Yes, the porch looks small, but I bet they could fit a couch and recliner out there to get the true mountain experience. Pretty soon, we’re gonna be mainstream. And when that happens, just remember where you read

I noticed that we picked up a few readers during my 31 Day Challenge. If you stuck around afterward we wanted to say hello and thank you! No seriously… Thank you! It gets depressing/boring to think we are only writing to ourselves and my mom.
That being said, I figure you are all intelligent enough to go view our about us page. Currently, we both write material and as someone pointed out there is no way to tell who wrote what. Though, if the grammar is correct then it is more likely to be Patrick. I plan to remedy that

So if you’ve been reading Brianna’s posts the last month, you’ve probably noticed that there’s been a lot of estrogen thrown around here. There’s very little mention of guys wanting to decorate, or of us coming up with some trendy themed place-setting. Well, she’s probably right. Most guys couldn’t give a rat’s ass about those things. But, guys still do enjoy participating in some stuff like that, even though they may not admit it. So ladies/party-planners, today I’ve come up with a few ideas for your guy-friends when they come over so that you seem even cooler to them than

Instead of DIY Wednesday we are doing it a day early. The reason? A simple costume for Halloween that I simply must show off! William Wallace aka Braveheart toddler style:
It got very cold, so, yes he does have pants under that kilt… and an extra shirt under his shirt. This costume also included a buckler and sword, but being almost two years old he quickly figured out throwing the sword and shield was super fun. This was our followup to last year’s viking costume.
How to Create A Toddler Friendly Version of Braveheart aka William Wallace
Materials: Plaid,

Happy Halloween and end of the 31 Day Challenge! You can read the recap here. Since I figured everyone was already decorated for Halloween, I moved on to a Traditional Thanksgiving for today’s mood board. However, if you are still scrambling for Halloween inspiration try:

Easy Halloween Treat Bags
Sparkly Halloween Decoration Inspiration
Now on to the turkey.
Since this is the Traditional Thanksgiving I’m not going into too much detail. Just remember grandmother’s. If your lacking a traditional family gathering then Google Norman Rockwell. Think warm fall colors, cornucopias, and plenty of turkey.
