Real Mountain Values started as a running joke between myself, Brianna Willis and my husband, Patrick. A certain politician ran a campaign that constantly discussed mountain values. To tell you the truth Patrick and I don't remember that much about the campaign other than every time we would see a sign or commercial we would discuss exactly what made up a mountain value... Gingerbread Cake: Last Minute Holiday Baking

One thread you’ll notice if you read here long is that I am consistently completing tasks at the last minute.  I loathe being late, but I can’t say I manage to get things done weeks in advance.  As usual I needed a last minute Holiday recipe and ummm…  Well last year I recommended my chocolate dipped pretzels, which, would have been wonderful IF I had reviewed my recipe.  Yeah, I burned chocolate… again.

31 Days of Party & Event Planning: Day 20-Staple Recipes for Any Party

When I think about past events I have attended they almost all have a few items they serve.  I’m going to call these your staple party foods.

Staple Party Foods

Dip with chips, crackers, vegetables, or pretzels

Cheese ball

Nuts

Cheese plate

Mints or candy

Sweet item like cookies, brownie bites, or cupcakes

Drink

Of these items you only need recipes for the dip, cheese ball, sweets, and drink.  I asked some of my more of my culinary inclined counterparts for their easy recipes.  I made sure these were items that guests ask for again and again.  It was amazing

Last Minute Christmas Dish or Gift

Need a last minute snack or hostess gift to bring to a holiday party in the next couple of weeks?  Well I’ve got your answer right here.  As we know I’m not much for cooking and a lot of times baking is just out of the question.  My answer: Chocolate dipped pretzels.

Bonus: If you’re not a douche-canoe like me then you will really only need a measuring cup and spoon to create this dish.  Low Cleanup!
